Very little communication on air strikes this week from LNA AF and no information was provided by GNA AF. First footage of a new MiG-21MF (serial number '04') appeared on 11th June. This aircraft is probably one of the six ex-Egyptian MiG-21MFs arrived at Gamal Abdel Nasser airbase near Tobruk on 6th March 2016. First photo was taken at GANAB and second is extracted from a video taken at al-Albraq AB.
Many bombings were performed by LNA helicopters on 12th June :
- At 6:00 AM, Mi-8 of the Thunder team carried out three air strikes focused on the perimeter of the pipe Factory Island.
- At 7:30 PM, Mi-17 of the Thunder team renewed airstrikes on locations and concentrations of ISIS and his allies in a series of air raids : concentration of mechanisms in the pipe Factory Island and gatherings in Ganfouda district.
On 15th June, LNA helicopters carried out airstrikes trageting a boat near the Regency Hotel in al-Sabri and concentrations of terrorist groups in al-Kwarshh axis. MiG-21 also performed in the evening air raid on a moving target in the perimeter of the Island pipe factory.
On 17th June, Pro-SCBR (Shura Council of Benghazi Revolutionaries), as well as Misrata media affiliated to Misrata militia published pictures of Benghazi supposed destroyed by 'barrels bombs' airstrikes and accused LNA / Haftar ... but LNA AF has never used such weapons ! Only unguided bombs (including some CBU) were launched by aircrafts and helicopters. LNA AF is also accused of directly targeting civilian in the city of Derna by media affiliated to SCMD (Shura Council of Mujahideen in Derna). LNA forces start being sidelined by the international community following the General Haftar's refusal to join the GNA.
